Ingredients
Oatmeal
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1 tbsp pure maple syrup from Canada
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
Maple Fried Banana
- 1 large banana, cut into circles
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tbsp pure maple syrup from Canada
Other Toppings (Optional)
- Peanut butter
- Walnuts
- Hemp seeds
Method
- Heat the coconut oil and maple syrup in a large non-stick skillet on medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to medium and add the banana slices. Cook on each side for 2-3 minutes until caramelized, then set aside.
- Bring the water and almond milk to a boil in a small saucepan, then reduce the heat to low and add in the oats, maple syrup and cinnamon. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the oats are soft.
- Pour the oatmeal into a bowl and top with the maple fried bananas and optional other toppings.
